Presidents Message

Our key event this month, the Golf Summer Scramble, was held last Friday at the Presidio Golf Course. We had a great turnout and many participants said they enjoyed the day especially with the sunny, fog-free skies. It was also evident that many made the most of the opportunity to not only renew connections but to build new ones too. The mix of members and guests from the Australian, Swedish and British associations made it a truly international affair and many have already expressed interest in signing up again for next year. Congratulations to all the our winners, a huge thank you to all our generous sponsors; and to our organizing committee and volunteers - a heartfelt thank you for all of your efforts and dedication in making this event a great success.

Planning is underway for our next events including a seminar on leadership and the challenges of adventure sometime in the late summer. We're also finalizing a date in mid-late September for our next International Women's Forum event, so stayed tuned for more details.

Don't forget to also save the dates for our Annual Clashes for the Ashes on 23 August at Piper Park in Larkspur, and the AFL Grand Final on 26 September at Jillian's in San Francisco.

I hope to see you and welcome any guests you invite along. On behalf of the Board of Directors thank you for your continued support and we welcome any feedback that you may have.

All the best, Jackie

Summer Golf Scramble
We were delighted to have over 80 players at the Summer Scramble Golf Tournament on June 13th at the Presidio Golf Course. It was a great day out for our supporters and sponsors and for an opportunity to do some business on the green. Partnering with the British and Swedish made for some great networking and fun. We would like to thank the Fairmont Hotel for their title sponsors and for our volunteers and Board that made this event so successful.

ENDINGS, NEUTRAL PHASE, AND NEW BEGINNINGS

Which Stage Are You In?

Katherine Hosie, Master Coach (Master of Science, Coaching Psychology)

The lovely Dawn Lillington recently asked me if I’d be interested in writing to you all each month. My response was a resounding Yes! There’s nothing more comforting to me than something Australian-related now that I’m no longer among the actual heat and dust of ‘home’…

My background is in evidence-based coaching, organizational change and human change, so my intention is to share with you information on theories and techniques that have been proven to work, in addition to what I hope you will find to be both beautiful and good.

To begin, one of the fundamental models that I’ve been thinking a lot (really, a lot!) about recently, is William Bridges’ Model of Transition. This is normally the first thing I look at when I start working with an organization or an individual, as knowing where we are now is essential to starting any good journey.  Read more..

The FBAR must be electronically filed on or before June 30, 2014 (regardless of the filing date of your income tax returns) to avoid significant penalties.  The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) is requiring all FinCEN forms including the FBAR to be filed electronically.  The FBAR can be filed electronically on the FinCEN’s website (http://bsaefiling.fincen.treas.gov/NoRegFBARFiler.html).  Enrollment is required prior to efiling of the form.  The US Government has stated that the enrollment process may take up to 5 business days.
