The Australia Gala is an annual event presented by the Australian American Chamber of Commerce. This uniquely Australian event is attended by San Francisco’s leading business and tech executives and provides an opportunity for networking while enjoying the best of Australian entertainment, food, and wine.
In any normal year, we would be in the midst of organizing our annual Australia Gala 2021 to celebrate all things Australian. That, as you’d expect, is not the case this year…..
In years past, the Gala has been a terrific party and we’ve presented a special program of Australian food, wine and beer, various silent and live auction items plus outstanding live music and entertainment.
As many of you know, the annual Gala is the AACC’s major fundraising event which enables us to provide ongoing programs and member support. This year the AACC’s financial position has been seriously impacted. Our inability to host in-person events has meant auxiliary sources of funding have been disrupted, however we recognized how imperative it is to continue to host programs and stay in contact with our members and friends during these challenging times. Like many organizations, we’ve delivered these virtually, free of charge, and trust you have seen benefit in these offerings.
Even though we are now in a dramatically changed world we will not let the pandemic dampen the Aussie spirit or keep us from coming together to celebrate Australia. So we have had a major re-think about how to present the 2021 Gala coupled with how to achieve our annual fundraising goals.
We are now pleased to announce we are working on a Gala extravaganza to provide our members and guests with the forum to dress up, listen to some top line entertainers and interact with other guests, all delivered virtually in the comfort of your own HOME - no Uber required!
This signature Australia Gala will celebrate its 39th year with a jammed packed zoom-style program that starts at 7:30pm PST. To get into the spirit of it all, we encourage you to begin the fun earlier with your home party by creating your own Aussie space, follow the dinner menu designed by Chef Scott Huggins for a fantastic Australian themed dinner paired with specially selected Australian Wine. At 7:30pm you can join the extended AACC group to continue the festivities for about 90 minutes.
Even though we won’t be able to recreate the fun and camaraderie of our typical in person gala we feel we can still deliver a great night’s entertainment. Through a break out room, you’ll be able to connect with old friends and have the opportunity to meet new ones. And, we have some surprises in store to make these interactions fun and memorable.
To join in for the 2021 Gala we are asking each of you, our loyal supporters, to make a donation of $95 per person which is less than half the cost of what would have been the 2021 ticket price plus you’ll receive the Aussie Gift Box.
We ask for your help, in whatever way you can, to keep this critical funding in place to ensure the AACC can continue to present programs and remain active and engaged in 2021.
