Dear AACC Members and Friends,
I hope that you have had a great start to the summer and have some enjoyable vacation plans to look forward to. As we emerge into more normal times, the ability for us to now reconnect in person is proving to be joyous. It reinforces how much we have missed tactile connections for so long so let’s hope we can continue to do so in a safe manner.
Last month, we were thrilled to have hosted a panel of AFL footballers – Sebastian Ross and Georgia Patrikios from St Kilda/The Saints and Kyle Johnson and Katie Klatt from the San Francisco Golden Gate Roos/Iron Maidens. Kyle moderated the session and focused the discussion on the issues around Bridging the AFL Gap. This past weekend, the AACC partnered with the GG AFL to host a family day at Golden Gate Park so it was exciting to see a live AFL game and to support the local teams.
Don’t forget to mark your calendars and join in our next events –
The AACC Board recently was asked what could be done to allow Australian travellers to participate in the US Global Entry Program. We have begun exploring this issue with our Embassy in DC. To help us with our advocacy for this change, we would like to receive your feedback on the challenges you have encountered while entering the US and what impact these have had on your family and your business. We will compile the feedback and present it to the Embassy as support & justification to join Global Entry. Thanks in advance for your help with this initiative.
As always, thank you to you, our members and friends, for your support of the AACC. Your continued membership and support is very much appreciated.
If you have any feedback or need assistance please contact me here or email Dawn.
With gratitude,
Jackie Yuen
AACC President

The Tasmanian government has launched the Trade with Tasmania directory, a platform allowing international companies the opportunity to search and review prospective Tasmanian partners.
The directory platform forms part of a larger Tasmanian trade marketing apparatus, including a trade showcase website and a virtual reality tour platform. These tools provide Tasmania’s international partners a great way to experience our state in this time of limited travel opportunities.
Tasmanian businesses continue to list on the new directory, so expect to see more and more quality businesses in the coming weeks.

Non-fungible Tokens: what’s all the fuss?
Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) have been around for many years but have recently gained huge traction, taking a variety of different forms such as digital kittens (CryptoKitties), sports highlights (NBA Top Shot), music album downloads (Kings of Leon) and digital art auctioned by Christies. More recently, Sir Tim Berners-Lee sold an NFT that included the original source code for the world wide web. NFTs represent a new way for brands to directly engage with consumers in the digital age; a way for brands to create a sense of scarcity and therefore value around their digital collectibles, including photos, videos and audio files. But what are they, what do they represent and what are the legal and commercial issues to consider?

Williamson Wines Owner Bill Williamson had the pleasure of dining with Scott and Beth Satterfield at the home ranch estate today.
After six seasons as the coach of Appalachian State, Scott became the 23rd head football coach at Louisville.
Bill’s take – "Scott is a candid but regular guy with a big streak of honesty. He is so matter of fact about the huge responsibility on his shoulders but he cares about each of his team members individually and their futures. He speaks with a Southern twang, has deep roots entrenched in the Carolinas and loves his family. I wish this guy would run for President".
Go Cardinals!
