G'Day from AACC President, Jackie Yuen

|
Dear AACC Members and Friends,
Summer in San Francisco with Karl the Fog in full force, proves an anomaly to the rest of the state and country experiencing heatwave conditions. While we hope the hot conditions abate and people stay safe, the fog is not enough to put a dampener on things here, as we celebrate summer festivals and vacation time.
The AACC farewelled Consul-General, Nick Nichles last month, and we are excited that Odette Hampton will be stepping in to fill his shoes through the end of the year. Odette has been Deputy Consul-General & Trade Commissioner and a valued friend of the AACC and will continue to drive business connections in the Bay.
Please join us for some great AACC events:
August 4 - Monthly Coffee Meetup at Bluestone Lane
August 10 - SF Sundowner social at St Regis Bar
October 5 - 11th Annual International Golf Tournament
Member, Partners & Mates in the News this month include:
- Telstra announcing an agreement with Starlink to connect remote Australia
- Withersworldwide celebrates being ranked in the Chambers 2023 High Net Worth Guide
- E&M Mayock joins Jewell Stewart & Pratt
- St Regis San Francisco dining experiences
- San Francisco Unicorns debut in the inaugural US Major League Cricket (MLC)
- Golden Gate AFL Tri-Series
- Pub Choir in San Francisco
Until next time, enjoy the summer!
As always, thanks for your support.
With gratitude,
Jackie

Dear AACC Members and Friends,
I’m thrilled to bring you the latest news and updates from our vibrant (and currently very chilly) state of Victoria.
First things first, let's talk jobs! While the workforce shortage buzz may have simmered down a bit, businesses here are still facing the challenge of a tight labour market. In June, there were 32,000 new Victorian jobs with jobless rate of 3.1% maintained in the regions; 3.5% nationally.
On the population front, Victoria has been the star performer among the states, adding 39,700 new residents in the December quarter.
There is a lot happening in the renewable energy sector in Victoria with initiatives and investments in wind and solar energy providing opportunities in innovation, technological advancements, and entry into a rapidly expanding clean energy market. This support will be critical to achieve the Victorian Government’s ambitious climate action targets.
Victoria's arts and sports scene continues to expand on a local and global stage:
However, not all news is sunshine and rainbows. You might have heard the Victorian Government made the decision to terminate the 2026 Commonwealth Games Host Agreement due to the escalating budget. Read more from the State Government here.
Looking ahead to an action-packed calendar!
So, there you have it—a snapshot of what's been happening across Victoria.
Until next time.
Cheers Helen

Led by our hilariously talented choir master Astrid Jorgensen, the audience becomes the performers, and before the show is over, hundreds of new best friends will be belting out a song in three-part harmony.
You don’t need to prepare anything. Got a mouth? You've passed the audition. Come with an open mind and a willingness to try a new thing, Pub Choir will do the rest.
Endorsed by Kate Bush, Mariah Carey, and Sir Barry Gibb (actual true stories) Pub Choir is a show that needs to be seen to be believed. Be a part of the magic as audiences of strangers are transformed into an incredible choir for one night only.
