Dear AACC Members and Friends,
It is encouraging to see the SF Bay area opening up again and our lives returning to some semblance of normalcy. Now that we are able to have more gatherings you really appreciate the importance of in-person social connections and how critical they are to our overall well-being.
The team here at the AACC has spent the past couple of months in planning mode for events in late Spring and summer with more details to come on webinars (including a fabulous one on gaming) and a Golf Day/Retreat.
We’re delighted to welcome Cameron Briggs to our Board. Cameron is here with Origin Energy and hails from Melbourne. He’s been involved in new technologies in the energy sector so we look forward to him bringing new insights to the board.
In April, we commemorated Anzac Day with a service at the Heroes Grove in Golden Gate Park. We had a small gathering of representatives from Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Turkey and Canada and the service was streamed live. Anzac Day is an important day for Australians and we are grateful to those who joined us in person and on-line for the hybrid style service.
As soon as more indoor venues re-open we’ll schedule some in person events and we’re excited about the prospects of re-connecting with friends and colleagues.
The past 14 months have been difficult and challenging on so many levels, yet as we emerge from the restrictions, there is an unmistakable feeling of optimism. Let’s garner that energy as a community and plan for a more fulfilling 2nd half of 2021.
As always, thank you to you, our members and friends, for your support of the AACC. Your continued membership and support is very much appreciated.
If you have any feedback or need assistance please contact me here or email Dawn.
With gratitude,
Jackie Yuen
AACC President
