Dear AACC Members and Friends,
I hope you've all had an enjoyable time over the festive season and having a great start to the new year.
We are excited to be in the final planning stages of the Australian Gala on February 3 at the Fairmont SF. It promises to be a wonderful evening, celebrating Australia and Australians, and recognizing some of our brightest who have been nominated for our Annual Innovation Awards. If you don't yet have tickets, please RSVP here so you won't miss out.
We're also pleased to welcome Chris Ketter to San Francisco as our Consul General and Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner. Chris commenced his posting in December 2023 and is joined by his wife Ellie. They are both really excited to be in San Francisco and look forward to getting to know the Aussie community in the Bay Area.

A delegation from the University of Melbourne and the University’s venture capital fund, Tin Alley Ventures, is arriving in the US in February to foster dynamic connections with US-based alumni, particularly those with an interest in life sciences, technology and the start-up venture capital sector. As part of this mission, the group will be hosting two tables at the upcoming AACC Australian Gala & Innovation Awards, where they’ll be looking to engage with alumni and any entrepreneurs interested in Australia there on the night and across the wider community. The delegation aims to spark connections and forge new partnerships with VCs, entrepreneurs, potential start-up mentors, legal experts and University Technology Transfer Offices on the West Coast and in Boston during their visit.
