Dear AACC Members and Friends,
Now that summer is almost here, for many it's time for vacation, more time outdoors and for others, business as usual. The AACC will continue with our events calendar for those who are in town, so watch out for various alerts so you don't miss out. Last month we hosted the annual ANZAC Day service on the USS Hornet. Thank you to the officials who represented Australia, New Zealand, Great Britain, and Turkey. For all the friends and family who were in attendance, thank you for your participation. We also hosted an Aussie Club luncheon to officially welcome Chris Ketter, our Consul-General and Senior Trade & Investment Commissioner. It was an opportunity for Chris to meet with local senior executives and great to have an interactive dialogue about the business environment. Our friends at Luce at the InterContinental SF hotel ensured our guests had a memorable experience and we enjoyed the wines supplied by Penfolds. We have a few events coming up, so please mark your calendars!

- We changed the date of our AACC Happy Hour to next week, Thursday May 30, 5:30pm at 150 Pacific Ave, San Francisco. I'll be there and look forward to seeing you.
- June coffee Meetup - Friday June 14, 10:00am at Bluestone Lane, 55 2nd St, San Francisco. Come and say hi to Melissa!
- We are excited to bring you the 12th International Golf Scramble on Thursday October 3rd, Crystal Springs Golf Course, Burlingame. More details to come, however start planning your teams to play. We'll be joining other International Chambers so it will be a great day out!

12TH ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL SCRAMBLE |
We are headed back to Crystal Springs Golf Course for the 12th Annual International Scramble which we are delighted to host in partnership with the BABC. Fun is paramount for this tournament, but there will be plenty of opportunities to show your competitive spirit with prizes up for grabs for putting and longest drive competitions, as well as closest to the pin. Played in scramble format, the tournament will be a great opportunity to entertain clients, or reward employees. |

On Sunday, April 21st, the Australian and New Zealand communities, along with representatives from the Turkish, and British communities, came together for a commemorative service at the USS Hornet in Alameda. Special thanks to the generous support of the Australian and New Zealand Consulates for making this event possible. |

UNCORKING SUSTAINABILITY AT CLIMATE WEEK |
|
|
One of the first events of San Francisco Climate Week was Uncorking Sustainability, hosted by Austrade Landing Pad SF alumni Deep Planet, together with speakers from Carbon Friendly, and Xinamavro Ventures. The event was held on the Historic Klamath Ship. The event delved into how AI and regenerative agriculture can contribute to more sustainable agricultural practices and how Australia's wine sector in particular are pioneering in these area. The AACC was thrilled to support this event with Austrade. |

The Aussie Club hosted a lunch to welcome Chris Ketter, Australian Consul-General & Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner for San Francisco. It was great to be able to introduce Chris to our Aussie Club members, some of whom have been part of this group since its inception in 2011. Many thanks to Luce at the InterContinental for providing a fantastic venue for lunch and to Penfolds for providing the wine. |

AUSTRADE AT RSA CONFERENCE |

Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) had the privilege of showcasing great Aussie cyber capabilities at the annual RSA Conference in San Francisco on Monday 6th May.
Austrade’s team put together a program that included sessions on the emerging opportunities in Australia's cyber sector, VC engagement activities, and lessons how to succeed in the US for our traveling Aussie delegates, led across two sessions by representatives from Microsoft, Carahsoft, Cisco, and Aussie success cases CyberCX and UpGuard.
With the rate of cyber attacks in Australia and around the world continuing to grow, the focus on cybersecurity innovation is more important than ever and Australia has a critical role to play. We'll be back again next year to showcase more incredible Aussie tech! |
