Ron Curry

CEO

Interactive Games & Entertainment Association AUS/NZ


Since joining IGEA in 2008, Ron has played an instrumental role in tackling the emerging issues surrounding interactive entertainment, and demonstrating the positive influence of computer and video games in the broader community particularly within the education and health sector.

Ron often appears in the media or fronting government to discuss the power of games to connect, empower, educate and inspire. Issues which he supports passionately include trade and export, funding, child safety, health, diversity and education.

Ron has sat on many working groups, boards and roundtables including an Advisory Committee Member on the ALRC’s Classification Review and holds a seat on the government’s Consultative Working Group on Cyber Safety.

More recently, Ron took the lead in the merger between the GDAA and IGEA in 2020, which saw the two associations coming together, ensuring that there was a single unified voice representing the video games industry.

Prior to joining IGEA, Ron spent 15 years in the interactive entertainment business working for platform holders, publishers and distributors in areas as varied as sales, marketing, operations and general management. In this time Ron was also one of the founding Directors of IGEA, which was then IEAA.


 

 

Steve Wang

General Manager and Studio Head

Wargaming Sydney


Steve is a veteran of the Australian games development industry, helping to steer it through his previous roles at Microforte and Bigworld Pty Ltd, the latter of which was acquired by Wargaming to become Wargaming Sydney. 

Wargaming Sydney is Australia's largest AAA developer and part of the Wargaming family that created the World of Tanks and World of Warships franchises. 

Steve is passionate about the developing talent within the Australian scene with a special focus in the areas of online technology and MMO games. Steve has a bachelor's in computer science from the University of New South Wales, Sydney.


 

Grainne Brunsdon

Head of Screen NSW


Grainne Brunsdon is a strategic leader in the creative industries with more than 25 years’ experience in the not for profit arts sector, tertiary education and the public sector. She has held roles in design education with TAFE and UNSW, in management and development with the Australian Design Centre and senior leadership roles in international cultural relations with the British Council. Since 2010, Grainne has held several senior roles in Arts NSW, Create NSW and Screen NSW, including Director of Arts Investment, Director Engagement and Development and is currently Head of Screen NSW.




 

Stephanie Chu,

First Secretary Home Affairs,

Global Business and Talent Attraction Taskforce

Stephanie is the First Secretary responsible for promoting the Global Talent Visa Program on the East Coast of the Americas, and is posted to the Australian Embassy in Washington DC, where she first arrived in September 2019.

Stephanie works in partnership with business and industry sectors, universities, employers and Commonwealth and State/Territory government partners to identify top talent for expedited permanent residence to Australia via the Global Talent Visa Program. Stephanie also supports business relocation activity to Australia in her work with the whole-of-government Global Business and Talent Attraction Taskforce.

Stephanie’s experience with the Department of Home Affairs spans 10 years, in policy and international areas, including as liaison for the Minister for Immigration and Citizenship, APEC international engagement and delivering major events, including Australia’s hosting of the G20.

Prior to joining the Department, Stephanie was in client facing roles at the Department of Human Services Centrelink.

Stephanie holds a Master of International Law from the Australian National University.
