The longstanding San Francisco and Sydney Sister City relationship truly represents the bond shared across the Pacific Ocean. The relationship was established in 1968 to strengthen civic, cultural, business, trade, tourism and sporting relationships between the Cities. Our San Francisco representatives drive these goals forward today, working toward an open, collaborative relationship for the Cities of San Francisco and Sydney. San Francisco and Sydney share many attractive features; we enjoy coastal living, thriving innovation sectors, and unlimited access to some of the finest arts and culture the world has to offer. We also have shared experiences with significant societal challenges – including climate change, housing affordability and availability, and an evolving urban core. I have found that the opportunity that comes with international friendship and collaboration is unmatched. When we work together to solve challenges, collaborate openly and champion innovation, we create resilient, thriving Cities. Thank you for your interest in the Sister City Initiative.
